Patch Notes: Town Bonus Chunks and the Auction House
What's new this edition, straight from the Syn desk.
Patch Notes from the Syn Desk
Two new features just landed, plus one small chat trick. Here's everything in this edition.
What's New
- Town Bonus Chunks: a brand-new way to expand your town's claim beyond its normal limit, bought straight through Towny.
- The Auction House is live for buying and selling items.
- Type [i] in chat while holding an item to show it off inline.
- New jobs are coming soon.
How Bonus Chunks Work
- Base price: 100 for your first bonus chunk.
- Each additional chunk costs 5% more than the last.
- No price ceiling: costs keep climbing the more you buy.
- Buy early: spacing purchases out as your town grows saves more than rushing to max cap late, since the last few chunks in a full buyout run 300+ each.
- All other town prices (new town, new nation, upkeep, etc.) are unchanged.

The Massacre in the Nether
Three Synners reduced to ash in broad… well, there is no daylight down here.
It is with great satisfaction that we, the Pigs of the Nether, report a banner day for lava. Three humans, known to us as XIndigoh, BRandini, and the frequent visitor JCkal, entered our home yesterday afternoon and did not leave it the same way they came in.
XIndigoh went first, attempting what witnesses describe as a "totally safe shortcut" across a lava lake. It was not a shortcut. It was not safe. A brief, dignified scream was heard, followed by a much less dignified inventory-loss notification.
BRandini, showing solidarity, arrived moments later to help and instead helped demonstrate that lava does not care about good intentions. Our scouts clocked the time between "I got you" and "I do not got you" at approximately two seconds.
JCkal, however, is the real headline. JCkal died to lava, respawned, walked directly back to the same lava, died again, and, in an incident our reporting pigs are still oinking about, got into a physical altercation with a block of gravel on the way. Witnesses say the gravel won on points. JCkal returned a third time. We stopped counting out of respect.
The Nether would like to remind all Synners that we did not invite you here, we do not maintain a guest list, and the floor is, and always will be, lava. A wonderful visit. Please come again.
More dispatches soon. Stay out of the Nether.
